It has been a pleasure to participate in the beginning of the pastoral ministry of the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires, Monsignor Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva. We must work fraternally in favor of the most vulnerable. I wish him the best, he knows he’s counting on me, Fernández wrote on Twitter.

I also send an affectionate greeting to Cardinal Mario Aurelio Poli, who has performed with great commitment during these years in which He was an archbishop, also always caring for the weakest and defending the need to work in unity for the good of the people. pic.twitter.com/9qPYSvReS0

The Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis highlighted García Cuerva as a pastor who comes to build as Francisco has been doing since the Vatican in the City of Buenos Aires.

I know him from having worked in the prisons of San Martin and I know of his commitment to the poorest. He has a message of unity for all Argentines. It seems to me that we all have to understand that the cracks and divisions do not lead us anywhere and that the challenges of Argentina demand more dialogue from all sectors, he stated in dialogue with Télam.

And, he later added in social networks that, without a doubt, will carry out his pastoral task with great commitment, dedication and vocation for our people.

The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo Wado de Pedro, assured that he knew of García Cuerva’s love for the most neglected and of his commitment to the people and to the Church and noted that times of great work are coming. You know you can count on me
